THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR ALL YOUR PRAYERS AND SUPPORT FOR THIS JOURNEY!
We’re preparing for a trip to Florida where Kathryn will see Dr. Kirkpatrick. She hopefully will be able to receive Ketamine Infusions to find some relief for her CRPS pain.
We will be at the CRPS treatment Center in Tampa from April 20-27. While we hoped this day would never come, we are grateful that this is an option.
Dr Kahn (in our home Kathryn calls him ”Kahny Baby”) suggested Ketamine a year ago, but we were not ready. Dr Kahn, and all the staff at Spine Institite of Va., have shown Kathryn amazing kindness and support. Dr Kahn acknowledged that all treatments used thus far have failed for Kathryn.
We’re hoping to get a room at the Ronald McDonald House in Tampa. It is close to Dr Kirkpatrick and will make it easy for us to get Kathryn back and forth for outpatient Ketamine treatments.
The long drive will be very painful for her but, at this stage of illness, Kathryn could not tolerate some of the challenges that come with commercial flying. So we’ll head out on a road trip and do our best to keep her comfortable. She’s packing a ridiculously huge green pillow and an extra soft blanket to match (thanks CBS friends!) She’ll download all her favorite music and videos– Dave is coming so there will be lots of laughs
We’ll eat some greasy food on the way (sorry!), and hopefully even create some good memories –despite the fact that our destination is not a resort or vacation.
Joe will fly to Tampa and be there with Kathryn through what we think will be the toughest part- but he’ll get back in time to finish student teaching and to walk as a VCU Music Education Major on May 11- YEAH!
Every day is a new day and we are thankful that this option is available to Kathryn — BIG HUGS AND THANK YOU’S AGAIN TO ALL OF YOU!!
WE ARE SO PROUD TO BE KATHRYN’S PARENTS AND WE LOVE HER DEARLY!
Your many prayers for Kathryn through these 4 long years have been answered by God showing us His constant help!
